UB Phil Hellmuth’s Entrance Upsets Doyle Brunson
Phil “The Poker Brat” Hellmuth of UB, who characteristically uses bluffs and aces to deliver knockouts, took his seat at the World Series of Poker Wednesday wearing mixed martial arts UB Referral Code gloves and a hooded, black and gold fighter’s robe.
Some poker traditionalists don’t approve. But Hellmuth, the 1989 Main Event winner, didn’t hold back. Even did all-time great Doyle Brunson, who said on Twitter: “I’m glad I’m not playing today so I won’t witness Hellmuth make a fool out of himself with his entrance. I can’t help thinking it’s terrible”
Hellmuth called Brunson about the UB com Review item. “I love Doyle Brunson,” Hellmuth said. ” … We go out drinking sometimes. … I called him up this morning. I said, ‘C’mon Doyle, you and I, we’re not the kind of people that jokes of other people.’ … It was just a little strong. He said, ‘Alright, you’re right.’ “
